Announcement by Coach De Brito

MANILA — Creamline superstar Tots Carlos will not play for Alas Pilipinas in the upcoming FIVB Challenger Cup. This was revealed by Alas Pilipinas head coach Jorge De Brito during the Philippine-hosting of Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Week 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

De Brito’s Statement

“Tots Carlos plays good. She’s always been the one who we requested for the national team. But at the moment, she’s not there,” said De Brito. The Brazilian mentor added that Rebisco will soon provide further details about this development.

Official Announcement Pending

“Rebisco will release something about this development soon. What we’re expecting is to bring the players who are really good at the same time,” De Brito mentioned.

Team Composition

De Brito confirmed that they will retain the same pool of players, with some additions previously announced by him and the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF). “We still have the same players. Of course, we’re gonna add but now for the lineup, we have 18 players including Jema Galanza and Bella Belen who will join us now. The pool is almost complete and we’ll finalize it with these 18 players,” he explained.

Additions to the Pool

Aside from the bronze-winning AVC Challenge Cup roster, Jema Galanza, Bella Belen, and Alyssa Solomon were added to the pool to strengthen the Alas bench.

Upcoming Matches

The Jia de Guzman-captained squad will face Vietnam in the knockout quarterfinals on July 5. One spot for the FIVB Women’s VNL is up for grabs in this tournament.(Voslot)
